It was quick, fast, and most importantly... painless , even though our consular officer was a tad bizarre with his behavior and mannerisms. Not to mention there was a fire drill that evacuated the entire building for over an hour.

First, we arrived about ten minutes late because we could not find parking. We should have done our research better, but still no harm done.

When we arrived, we placed our interview notice on the desk and sat down. ABout 15 minutes later, the interviewer called us into our office. He asked us to stand and raise our right hands. When we did that, he asked us to swear to tell the truth, which we did. Then he told us to sit down.

He asked for our passports. I looked through the envelope where we had placed our paperwork and found my passport, but could not find my wife's passport. We started to panic and looked around the room. Then we were going to go back out to look, but he told us not to worry and that he will have security look around the building for us. When he brought security, i remebered that I had taken out the passport at the entrance to the building in case they needed it and placed it in my pocket. It was very impersonal and slightly formal. We had no problems throughout the process, and the interviewer while non-committal on approval was very respectful and professional.
